The main hotel is
preserved as a comfortable and peaceful retreat, where one can relax in front of
the log fire in MacKenzies Bar while sampling a pint of Skye Ale, brewed on the
premises from the clear waters of the Cuillin, or relax with one of our rare
malts in Collie's Lounge, looking out over the Cuillin Ridge as the sun goes
down.
For those who
prefer a bit more hustle and bustle, the lively Seumas' bar is the place to
enjoy the famed 'crack' of the Highland, with its log fire to keep out the cold
and its range of over 100 fine malt whisky's on optic and array of real ales.

The hotels
Cairidh restaurant takes its name from the roughly built stone semi
circles which were constructe in many of Skye's sea lochs during the
19th century. They were built below the high tide mark so that
when the water receded, fish were trapped in the Cairidhs making there
capture relatively simple. This ancient way of fishing has now
been outlawed and the Cairidhs destroyed by the landlords, although
remnanats of them can still be seen at low tide close to Sligachan today |
.
Sligachan prides itself
on its good value home-cooked food using as much local produce as possible, and
even though our seafood is caught by more modern methods our menus today still
include fresh scallops dived for in Loch Sligachan and Langoustines caught by
local fishermen.
